‘Pataphysicist sean stewart acts as a sort of “apologist” or mouth piece for the collective, because, frankly, his colleagues are really shy and their relationship to contemporary art is rather tenuous since they see themselves as outsiders looking in.
“As I mentioned at the beginning, part of the reason we don't feel we're artists is because we have been in the science field forever, but we ask ourselves: what is an artist?”
Like a Pirandellian play, the dopamine collective™ began as 6 characters in search of an author.
They have found that author.....their audience.
Having lost control of the play, the seventh member, Dr. Stewart, is more of an observer, a curator of information and experience if you will, not so much a maker or a director.
